As I was walking in the park last week The sky was blue, the air fresh and cold I stumbled across what looked like eggs All beautifully painted in silver and gold And there in the middle of a field of grass Stood a young man all dressed in white He would reach in His basket and pull out an egg And then place it somewhere in plain sight What an odd thing to do, I said to myself As I walked over to where He had knelt But the closer I got to this mysterious man The more all the eggs seemed to melt Then He picked up His basket and suddenly arose And as He turned, I instantly knew His face This was the Savior I had come to love The One who had showered me with His grace He said that these eggs were not for me That I had already found my Lord All of my sins had melted away The day I believed in His Word Then He took out an egg and showed it to me Saying each one held a special gift Inside held the name of a girl or boy And all the sins that He promised to forgive The eggs weren't hidden, they were easy to find All you had to do was open your heart Pick up your egg, see what's inside And your journey to Heaven will start Copyright © Tom Mortimer.
